How I battle Flu

The worse thing that can happen while you are on holiday is to be down with some kind of illness. I was the unfortunate passer-by to a friend's flu virus.

I refused to cower to the horrible bug because that would mean staying in bed while everyone else explore the ruins, learn history and snap gorgeous summer picture for keepsake.

So I battled the virus with what I could get out of the buffet table.

I helped myself to the lemon slices(meants for salads) and made my own "lemon drink zero".

My mon swears by lemon honey as the ultimate Vitamin C booster but unfortunately we had no honey then, and I'm not a fan of sugar, so the family had to put up with a prune face at the dining table.

Travel

I have to admit that one of the great perks about living in China is how easy it is to travel. Most Asian countries are only a two or four hour flight away for a few hundred dollars. It's typical to hear of someone making a weekend trip to places like Bali, Thailand, Vietnam or some other exotic locatons. And China itself is so huge and there are so many placws within the country to see. We have a long list of places to visit and things we'd love to do just here in China alone. If you're the adventurous type, you can travel anywhere by train for under $100USD.
Daisy made her first long distance train journey back in February. I think she's ready for more.

Hong Kong

I went to HK last July to get trainning. When I wasn't at the office in Central, I was exploring the city, eating and window shopping with AnYan. It's an interesting city where EVERYTHING is on top of each other, more so than any other city I've visited-with serious signage and space overload.
The double-decker buses and the intense signage were overwhelmingly amazing.I was wondering if the double-decker buses don't crash into the signs above then if the signage ever falls off the building because they are just THAT many.

I've been there a handful of times over the last 10 years but it was completely different feeling coming from Shanghai. It made me realize how different Shanghai's dynamic is compared to both HK and London. The allure of ads and shops in HK and NYC screams YOU NEED TO BUY THIS IF YOU WANT TO BE SOMEONE but in Shanghai I really don't get this feeling (or maybe the ads and shops aren't doing a good job attracting me). But I've noticed people around me could care less what Im wearing, what designer, and where I go eat my meals, shop, etc. Of course when I dress better to go to pricey-er establishment,I receive more attention like anywhere else...
But the pressure to be a certain way, dress a certain way, shop a certain place isn't here--or I haven't felt it calling me. (Don't worry, I haven't become totally reckless to the point where I put on same unwashed clothes day after day...although the thought appeals to my laziness right now...) It's a liberating feeling and it made me miss Shanghai for the first time. After three days in HK, I was ready to return home with training accomplishment in hand.

And for you guys who go through this trainning process periodically, you know my joy when I say I got my certificate! No tranning paperwork to deal with for a while.

During H1N1, when I was sitting in KA airline stopping in SH, I was greeted by men covered head to toe ready zap me with their fever gun.

Impersonate someone, maybe good?

When I was deciding to improve my English, I use lots ways. Like language exchange with Karen or Wanhing, write English blog and listen English news and dramas.

I think all what I've done is in Chinglish. So I figure a way to write down something here to follow someone else.Just like a Dad or Mom teaches you how to speak.

Hold back emotion

Is it easy for you to imitate somebody? Someone who you may not know well.
I watched youtube last day and there was an interview that something about ideal model. Some of local stars were interviewed that they all admit that their acts must influence/affect their fans.
Ideal model sometimes is not good job because they have to live the way on others request, instead of being on their own. Acting like actor or actress in a drama when they are in normal life.
Im a fan of one of them and I really look forward to follow the way my ideal model.

Can't imagine how the information would go if internet disappears.
